“City sidewalks, busy sidewalks…dressed in holiday style.”

My time in the District is coming to an end, and I’ve kept this to myself because my heart is breaking over it. Instead of hanging up a wreath, I’m packing up my bags and getting ready to move for the third time this year.

I’ve never felt more at home in my life – I’ve fallen in love with the city, the people, and the opportunities I’ve been presented with. It’s turning into a little bit of a blue Christmas.

But, as the days dwindle on and the weather gets slightly chillier than the one before, I try to find new reasons to smile and soak up the last remaining moments I have here.

“It’s okay to show up to the party late – as long as you nail the fashionably part.”

It’s no surprise that I love a good celebration and twirling around in a gold, black, and silver metallic dress (my nation’s colors) is my idea of a fantastic evening.

The holiday season is the perfect time to gather those you love around you, squeeze their cheeks, and laugh until you cry! And then, of course, end the night at Captain Cookie.

These are the moments I cherish and am going to miss – not the ballgowns or the bowling, but the people.

You know my heart needs some hot chocolate to warm up, so I’m off to grab some…
