“Of course, you run the risk of ending up alone. And all because you were oblivious to the man who could have held you in his arms, and ignored the awkward looking girl who could’ve been a lifelong friend. If that’s the case, you can always book a one-way ticket to Paris.”
About this time, last year, I was headed to Paris for the first time ever. Obviously, the circumstances were different and it’s kind of incredible to see how much has changed between the time that I had my first café laduree and now.
I’m quite proud of myself, to say the least.
I’ve read How to be Parisian Wherever You Are maybe once or twice. And by once or twice, I mean maybe a couple of hundred times. Germany is my world, America is my country, and Paris is my hometown.
I’m new to this whole dating thing and creating a life-love balance and I’m struggling with friendships that I once adored. It’s hard to realize the good when weeks like this one come along and are painfully dreary, but at least we’ll always have Paris. Haha.
So, with an oversized sweater and a starving soul, I cheers to goat cheese and spinach omelets and toast to French speaking men. May everyone’s lives be full of them. Oui oui, nous parlerons bientot.
Hannah was a guest of Laduree. As always, all opinions are my own.
