I first wanted to say, thank you all for the beautiful birthday wishes, they all meant so much to me!

Secondly, the travel bug has finally been able to bite me, and I went on a very interesting adventure to San Francisco this past weekend. I was there for a job interview but was able to get a little exploring done while I was at it…

Here’s some little pro tips that I learned in my 24 hours there…

The beaches are nude. Shield you and your children’s eyes.

The bread really is amazing there. Eat as much of it as possible.

Catch (haha baseball puns) a Giants game while you’re there. It’s really fun.

Talk to the people. They are all incredibly nice and give great recommendations.

So, with that, I recommend going to Trouble, which is as daring and mischievous as its name sounds. The original toast is actually covered in so much cinnamon that it leaks through the paper. I washed it down with an iced coffee and walked down the streets, taking in the breezy day with some sunshine.

After that, I went to Baker Beach (hence the nudity) and walked about a mile down the beach until I saw the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge. I have never been so excited to see a bridge in my entire life. I was jumping up and down and grinning from ear-to-ear. It was so exciting and the sea foam was trickling my toes and I was as giddy as one can be!

But here’s the giant elephant on the beach that I wasn’t expecting – I’m learning how to cope with being alone. Traveling is such an important part of my life and after a year of being single-ish, I’m starting to realize that I can do things by myself. And I’m okay-ish with that. But we live in a world today where we’re encouraged to get married young or have the most followers and the most friends, but no one ever lets you know that it’s okay to find a career and move into a small apartment on your own and live your own life. This is something I’ve really been struggling with over the past year, but it’s getting easier and better as I mature and am almost done (eeeek one week) with school forever.

So, as you know, I started this week with my birthday and now I’m ending the week with a birthday party that may include some animal guests!

See you Sunday, until then, let’s eat cake!

Hannah was a guest of the San Francisco Giants. As always, all opinions are my own.
