“Always take the scenic route.”

Well, it’s day four of waiting for an iPhone 4, and I am just super thankful I have a DSLR to carry around with me. In the past few social-media-less days, I’ve spent a lot of time with friends, family, and food.

I’m not going to lie, it’s been pretty nice, minus trying to get in touch with my boss yesterday in regards to my work assignment. I’ve been tracking life through my Dell computer, sorry, no Apple syncing in this 90s home, and keeping up with Instagram, Twitter, and of course, the Kardashians.

But, despite it all, I’ve really enjoyed being outside and being truly present. One of my favorite hikes in Malibu is off of Point Dume, where you start at the beach, go up the mountain, and down into the tide pools.

It’s about a four mile round trip, and the continuous change of scenery is really beautiful and full of really awesome animals and botanicals. I especially love looking out and hearing all of the seals on the coast barking at one another. It’s truly a magical land here in Malibu.

I took the Monday off from work to complete the hike with my brother before he left for the airport. It was totally worth it. It’s really important for me to live an active lifestyle, and through this ever changing season of my life, making the time for personal health is always easier said than done.

Summer is approaching (eeeek one month!!) and I’m really excited for all of the upcoming adventures, but taking the scenic route where I live is always a new experience.

See you on sunnier days with a cold (iced coffee) one in my hand.
