I know, I broke my vow on my last post for the Food and Wine Festival, but if you know Hannah like I have consistently tried to portray myself, then you know that if I say I’m done with something then I’m probably going to go back for more. Haha.
Food and Wine Festival ended this week and I did one last round of the places that reminded me of home and the foods and drinks from all my travels abroad.
I started the morning off with some breakfast in Belgium. I love a good Belgian waffle and being in Brugge was one of my favorite memories of living in Europe, so diving into the Belgian waffle with berry compote brought back sweet memories. And also sparked a craving for massive hot chocolate bowls.
I then went a little south of the European border to Morocco. After speaking to the sweet server from Marrakech, I decided on washing my breakfast down with the Mimosa Royale. This champagne delight was not only topped with orange liqueur but also a splash of orange juice. A new twist to the mimosa I fondly love.
Now it was time to continue your girl’s tour or my food expedition. I went on home to Germany and grabbed my favorite lunch – Schinkennudeln. Or, for an easier definition, pasta gratin with ham and cheese. I absolutely love pasta gratin so to soak up my champs (haha I did have to drive home and run errands) I scarfed the noodle down before my next and last stop in Ireland.
I’ve never been to the Emerald Isle, but I have lived vicariously through the Real Housewives, so I’ve been there in spirit. Completing breakfast and lunch, it was time for dessert! I ordered the warm chocolate pudding with Irish crème liqueur custard. Let me tell you…I am not a big chocolate lover but it was incredible! And to wash it down, I ordered the Twinings Pumpkin Chai tea frozen cocktail. Oh yeah, it also had a hint of caramel vodka. Now that’s a holiday drink that I can toast too!
With a belly full of gluten, a slight buzz and a slight rain-drizzle, it was off to Target to buy everything in the Hearth and Hand collection!
And now I’m off to my favorite place in America! See you there!
