We always go to Gueros whenever I’m in town, but I had just been a couple of weeks ago when we celebrated my sister’s graduation, so I was in the mood for Mexican but a place I had never been before. Although I am not writing about Polvo’s, I do highly recommend it. The margaritas are to kill for!
But, that’s beside the point because I’m here to discuss Halcyon. The only time I had heard of Halcyon was in an Ellie Goulding album, but I’m always down to brunch so when Corey recommended it, you better believe I was there for it!
Both C and I got a cup of coffee (to help recover from the night before) and a traditional mimosa, because a brunch without champagne is really just a sad breakfast.
Corey ordered the chicken-and-waffles whereas I am always down for an omelet! If you’re ever in the Mueller (Austin) area, I would famish your hunger with the East Side Omelet. The omelet had cream cheese (wild, I know), bacon, turkey, chive and cheddar inside it. It was stuffed to the brim, and even though I have a dairy allergy, it was worth the stuffy nose and congestion later!
So with a swig of my champs and a conversation with my favorite person ever, I bid Texas farewell and began plotting my next adventure.
