I thought about opening this post with the lyrics from Hawaiian Roller Coaster ride, because it is after all, a post about Disney’s Polynesian restaurant, Ohana.
Then I saw the lyrics in it
And if I only had my way, I’d play til the sun sets beyond the horizon
And it really spoke to me, because I had been playing all day and ending the day by having a celebratory birthday dinner. I also carefully picked out this title because we had to go out and request a dairy-free, gluten-free, shellfish-free, nut-free and egg-free menu. So, yes, a glass of water was provided. Haha.
But, I will commend Ohana because they pulled it off! The wings didn’t have sauce (bummer) and there was rice instead of lo mein noodles, but it was quintessentially the same!
In my opinion, the best dish of the night was the chicken – it was ridiculously moist and melted in your mouth! The dessert, a banana-pineapple cake, was exquisite too…it was all great but those were my absolutely favorites.
If you’re in the area or looking for a fun night out, I definitely would head that way! But, be well-minded to schedule very in advance or else you’ll end up eating second dinner (cue The Office joke) and silently struggling to stay up past your bedtime! Haha.
Hannah was a guest of Ohana. As always, all opinions are my own.
