I once painted this captivating picture in my head…it consisted of a stroll down a European cobblestone street, the sun just breaking through the fluffy clouds. A turn would lead you into a quaint shop, where the aroma of blackened tea would fill your nose as you sat to bite into a buttery cucumber sandwich. Following said sandwich, with a biscuit covered in raspberry compote, sticking to your fingers as your eyes trace the bubbles floating up the side of your champagne flute.

Where I’m going next is not in some far-off world across the pond. Instead, a beautiful spot of afternoon tea could be found in the grand entryway of the Grand Floridian Resort. Walking amidst the rain-drenched Disney go-ers is a stunning escape to a room filled with women and their pinkies out, eating their delicate macarons & sharing the latest gossip.

As I sat and ordered a glass of Veuve, I found the perfect balance of southern charm and old-world London. & I would’ve never guessed it could be found on Disney property. In that moment, sitting in my floral sundress, biting into an onion tart, I was a bride married to amazement.

With all of the bread and biscuits that my little heart could dream of & wonderful company, I found a moment of peace in a hotel lobby as a light rain began on a Wednesday afternoon.

Hannah was a guest of the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. As always, all opinions are my own.
