“On a scale of 1 to 10, I was 9 ¾ excited to be there”

I’m not one to go to a theme park – they’re not exactly my forte no matter what company I work for, but there was something about Universal that was so fun. Perhaps it’s because I haven’t been to Universal since I was a youth or because I had just binge-watched all of the Harry Potter movies but I had such a fun time exploring the franchise down the street from me.

My favorite rides that I would highly recommend going on are the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit (totally worth the wait), Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (best ride I’ve ever been on) and Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon.

My favorite restaurant was hands-down Three Broomsticks. It’s inside Hogsmeade and has some of the best fish-and-chips that I’ve had since leaving Malibu. And of course, you can’t be in The Wizarding World without having butterbeer. I don’t think I’ve ever drank so much of one drink in my entire life. The best way I can describe it, is that it tastes like a creme soda (without the carbonation) with a butterscotch froth on top. Weird, right? But it grows on you and definitely gets better with every mug.

I’ll confirm that I spent a lot of my time in the Harry Potter state of mind while at the parks. The queues were great because they were interactive AND air-conditioned, which should be a requirement in Florida, but some other places haven’t quite picked up on that amenity. The rides were like Flight of Passage x1000000 and long enough to make the wait well worth it.

And of course, I couldn’t leave without getting a chocolate frog…

Hannah was a guest of Universal Studios Orlando. As always, all opinions are my own.
