A Cuppa for You & Me

IMG_7310

I’ve always day-dreamed about a cup of iced-coffee, every morning, from a handsomely bearded man. But, until that day happens and as viruses continue to flood the winter season, I’ll take my scorching hot tea with a side of routine. I’ve always struggled with how to make tea, what tea should be drank at what time in the day and so on.

So for anyone else who may be struggling with a rou-tea-ne, I’ve listed mine out below with the which and why!

Wake Up: I start my morning with Tazo Turmeric Bliss. Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory that also boosts immune function. With the coronavirus spreading at rapid rates, it’s cliche but important to me to be drinking an antioxidant and antiviral tea. My family also has an extensive history of Alzheimer’s and the curcumin in turmeric helps reduce the chance of neurodegenerative conditions. So, yes, I love starting my morning off with my Turmeric Bliss!

Mid-Morning: Typically after my first morning meeting, I drink a cup of Bigelow Green Tea with Ginger. This cuppa is used as my metabolism in the boost but it does so much more than wake me up and keep me going! The green tea that I use has added probiotics (Ganeden BC30) to support healthy digestion and prepare my body for my lunch.

Afternoon: Many people suggest a black tea for their afternoon grind, but I prefer Tazo Matcha Mate Grapefruit tea. In order for me to refocus and gain energy, I need a little bit of caffeine and matcha provides that for me. As I’ve said before, matcha has so many health benefits. Matcha is packed with antioxidants and EGCg, detoxifies effectively and naturally, is rich in fiber and vitamins as well as aiding in concentration. The grapefruit is just a really good use of added flavor that pumps me up.

Before Bed: This is an adage as old as time itself and that’s ending the day with chamomile tea. My favorite night time activity is enjoying a cuppa Celestial Seasonings Honey Vanilla Chamomile Tea. There are so many powerful health benefits with this little bag and to start off with, it helps promote better sleep. Chamomile relaxes nerves and soothes the nervous system all while boosting the immune system and fighting harmful bacteria while you snooze. The biggest pro that I’ve experienced from this tea is that it prevents anxiety. The floral fragrance eases stress and depression risks. It’s a win-win and a good night’s rest.

It’s not down to a perfect science but when you’ve tried every medicine in the market and are still getting sick and experiencing horrific bouts of anxiety, you turn to what’s always seemingly worked. And let me tell you, so far it’s so good!
