I’m no stranger to Austin, TX as you all know by now, but I very rarely spend the night in a hotel there or do anything outside of eating at my favorite restaurants and crashing the couches of friends.
But after a tumultuous September, we decided to head down for an overnight in Austin and stay at The LINE Austin. This is every mid-century modern lovers’ dream when it comes to design and delight. If you’re looking to pay a bit more in taxes and COVID-19 fees, then this is the perfect place for you. The rooms are mid-century-chic, with stunning metals and simplistic backboards, but the main perk is the stunning view of Lady Bird Lake and a jewel-toned color palette.
We ate at the hotel’s restaurant, P6, and we were truly…disappointed. It was pretty overpriced and the ticket included a COVID-19 tax that no one could explain to us, gratuity included (we were only a party of two and would have honestly tipped more) on top of the general tax. My advice would be to save your money and splurge at a fabulous restaurant on South Congress.
But, in true Hannah fashion, I obviously went to my favorite coffee shop, Alfred. You can hold the cup close to your heart and stomach because this incredible coffee shop is located right outside the lobby of The LINE! You already know my advice is the Nitro Cold Brew, but I’ve also had their chai and it’s equally as amazing.
So if you’re looking for a baby moon, weekend getaway or staycation, The LINE Austin just might be the place for you!
