“The best thing about a picture is that it never changes. Even when the people do.”
The Earth without art is just eh. I try to make it a point to go to new museums and learn. Not just look at the art, but look at the meaning – what was the artist thinking, why these dimensions, why the subject…I always try to really learn.
I had planned for a road trip to Palm Springs, but with busted blood vessels after running around Disney with my sister (again) and pure exhaustion from a long week, we rested up, got our Ihop on, and went to The Broad.
I was in awe. I’m not the biggest fan of contemporary art as I am a Durer girl for as long as I live. But!! The balloon animals, giant dining set, and Andy freakin Warhol really captured my attention and made me think that unlike a picture, my views and likes could be changing.
It was relaxing and then…I saw Merkel…and I knew this had to be the best art museum in Los Angeles (sorry LACMA). And you know, I won’t write about a land or world of Disney, but I may just have the best view Walt could muster for ya…but you’ll have to wait and see.
A very special thank you to our sweet friends at The Broad for taking such great care of us. As always, all opinions are my own.
